AbFen is an equine de-wormer formulated to treat parasites that can damage a horse’s gastro-intestinal and respiratory tracts, including:

  • Roundworm (adult and migrating stage larvae)
  • Encysted small strongyle larvae (at double-dosage)
  • Large strongyles
  • Cyathostome larvae (encysted early 3rd stage (hyobiotic), late 3rd stage and 4th stage)

Dosage and Feeding

  • Each 9g sachet of film-coated granules contains 2250mg of fenbendazole USP
  • Treatment dosage of 60mg/kg (27.2mg/lb) of horse's bodyweight, reducing to 7.5mg/kg (3.4mg/lb) of horse's bodyweight depending on the control program.
Feeding Tips
  • Top dress dry granules onto feed. A small amount of corn syrup or molasses can be added to the feed mix.
  • Add to apple sauce and spread onto a treat such as an apple or carrot.

Safety and Storage


Should a massive overdose occur, treat symptomatically and supportively


There are no known contraindications for the use of fenbendazole in horses.


Fenbendazole may cause the release of antigens by the dying parasites. This phenomenon may result in either a local or systemic hypersensitive reaction.


Reports indicate the combination of ivermectin and the silver nightshade plant results in a severe toxic reaction in horses.

  • Do not treat horses intended for human consumption.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Veterinary use only.
  • Dispose of unused product and containers in accordance with guidance from your local waste regulation authority.
  • Do not contaminate water ways with the product or used containers.
  • Store in a cool dry atmosphere away from extreme heat.
  • Store/Transport at and 20º to 30ºC ( 68º to 86ºF)
