Gastric Ulcer Treatments

Abprazole™ sachets of enteric coated blue colored granules containing Omeprazole 25%w/w for equine use for both the treatment and prevention of Equine Gastric Ulcers (EGUS).

Blue coloured granules are easily seen if at the bottom of the feed container if they have not been consumed.

No Adverse Effects
Abprazole is safe for all horses; there have been no adverse reactions reported, however the effects on pregnant mares and their foals have not been specifically evaluated.

Abprazole™:

• Contains equine Omeprazole which is the only treatment for EGUS currently approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
• Omeprazole decreases the gastric acid secretion by blocking the H+, K+ - adenosine triphosphatase (acid pump) enzymes, shutting down acid secretion by knocking out the acid pumps - as opposed to competing with the stimulant.

Recommended dosage is 0.09 mg/lb per day (2.0 mg/kg)

Administration

Simply sprinkle Abprazole™ dry on to feed. Fussy eaters mix with molasses or corn syrup and then mix with food, apple or a treat. Abprazole™ may be mixed with a mash. To achieve the maximum effectiveness best not heated, mixed or immersed in a water based feed or treat as granules are enteric coated.
